This course includes the following topics:

• (1) Capital structure, including an emphasis on econometric issues in estimating the speed of adjustment to target capital structure (as a general application to any empirical work using dynamic panel data sets with a lagged dependent variable);
• (2) Initial public offering (IPO) underpricing and the role of analyst coverage;
• (3) The measurement of long-run performance, including econometric issues when there is a lagged stochastic regressor;
• (4) The use of instrumental variables when there is an endogenous variable on the right-hand side of a regression;
• (5) Behavioral corporate finance. Further topics may be added.

Call for Doctoral Papers - the second CEMS PhD Seminar on Public Management and Governance in St. Gallen, 2010!

The Seminar is designed to give Ph.D. students an opportunity to discuss their research in the field of Public Management and Governance. In the mornings professors from CEMS Universities are going to give introductory lectures on a topic and discuss with the students. In the afternoons, student projects will be discussed with the professor of the day.

The following ERIM doctoral courses are open for candidates from other doctoral programmes studying at CEMS schools.
