CEMS appoints Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC Paris,
as new chairman and welcomes 9 new corporate partners
December 2006. The Community of European Management Schools and International Companies (CEMS) is delighted to announce that it has elected a new Chairman. Professor Bernard Ramanantsoa, Dean of HEC School of Management in Paris, takes over from Professor Paul Verhaegen as Chairman of the strategic alliance of 17 leading European business schools, four non-European academic associate members and 56 international companies. Paul Verhaegen has left CEMS to take up a position as an executive board member of the Eindhoven University of Technology. CEMS Strategic Board Meeting - Verona, October 2006 October 2006. The European Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Multilingualism, Mr. Jan Figel, was a guest of honour on the occasion of CEMS’ Strategic Board meeting held in Verona, Italy on October 18 and 19, 2006. The meeting, hosted by Rector Angelo Provasoli from Bocconi University in Italy, brought together 25 presidents, deans, rectors and business leaders from some of Europe’s top schools and multinational companies to discuss their role and responsibilities in Europe’s higher education future. In break out sessions CEMS deans and rectors reflected on such issues as how to favour cooperation over competition and strategies for the promotion of international mobility of doctoral students. MOVES UP TO NO. 2 IN FINANCIAL TIMES RANKING
PARIS, FRANCE—September 11, 2006. The Financial Times (FT) released today its second annual European ranking of “pre-experience” Master’s in Management degree programmes. The Community of European Management Schools and International Companies’ one-year Master’s in International Management (CEMS MIM) programme has moved up to the number two spot from third place in last year’s ranking. In addition, 14 CEMS member schools feature individually in the list (including the number one spot) and ten schools in the top 25. L’Oréal and CEMS announce academic scholarships March 2006. The Community of European Management Schools and International Companies (CEMS) and L’Oréal have joined forces to award scholarships to students from the CEMS non-European associate members. The winners from Tecnológico de Monterrey- EGADE in Mexico and Fundaçao Getulio Vargas in Brazil will come to Europe to study the CEMS Master’s in International Management (MIM), a joint master’s degree programme that is offered at all 17 CEMS member institutions (see list below). The selected students will also carry out an internship in one of L’Oréal’s European divisions. The CEMS Alumni Survey 2005 In 2005, the Community of European Management Schools and International companies (CEMS) surveyed more than 1,700 of its alumni population. Designed to analyse their career progress, priorities and views, the survey was carried out from March 8th until April 3rd 2005 through an Internet based questionnaire comprising 46 key questions. The CEMS Graduate Survey 2005 - Class year 2004 In 2005, the Community of European Management Schools and International companies (CEMS) sent out a survey to nearly 300 of the CEMS ‘class’ of 2004, who had graduated from the Master’s in International Management Programme (CEMS MIM).
