CEMS supports Fight Hunger - Walk The World 2007
‘CEMS Supports Walk The World’ was launched in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and TNT, to organise major public events in CEMS locations throughout Europe and the world. These events will be organised to raise awareness and funds for WFP in order to eliminate hunger, and create better opportunities for children who currently live in extremely poor conditions.
 
 Background information on Walk The World

WFP developed the ‘Fight Hunger’ Initiative; a form of collaboration with national and international institutions, non-governmental organisations and the private sector with the goal of ending child hunger by 2015. Three years ago its humanitarian partner TNT initiated Walk The World, an event to raise the awareness of the existence of hunger and funds to solve it. The Walk reunites an increasing number of participants each year and is planned to become the biggest, most visible, annual humanitarian event in man history.

 CEMS Involvement
The Fight Hunger: Walk the World initiative fits extremely well with the CEMS philosophy. Children are our future. Children are entitled to the opportunities to go to school and to develop into healthy adults. A common goal for both the Walk and our CEMS alliance - education to broaden the range of opportunities to achieve a better life - only strengthens this interesting future cooperation. In this perspective, no other institution or member will be better equipped to become a main player in this worldwide charity event than us and our Schools.
