During the CEMS Student Board Meeting in Cairo, the Student Board elected its 31st member and first representative of AUC, Yara Koura. Each meeting reflects a crucial moment of time when all representatives meet for the first time to discuss global projects and work together.
With the immense support of the academic director, Hakim Meshreki, and the program manager, Seham Ghalwash, the Student Board had an unforgettable experience working in Egypt. Many would describe the experience as ‘being treated like family’ by the university and would like to thank the AUC faculty for their warm hospitality.
Within the five intensive day meeting, the Student Board teams discuss on-going projects within the global CEMS community and the progress that has been made since their first annual meeting in April 2019 at NOVA, Lisbon.
Discussion topics such as corporate partner engagement, the Asian Pacific forum, gender equality, responsible leadership and many other topics were brought to life during these five days. Upcoming projects and events were to be finalized and set forward at the following major CEMS events and activities:
- CEMS Club Conference at ESADE, Barcelona on October 4;
- Global Responsibility Week from October 21 to 26;
- The CEMS Career Forum at Corvinus University, Budapest on November 8 and 9;
- WARroom Warsaw Consulting Conference, Warsaw from November 20 to 22.
The board also had the opportunity to meet with CEMS corporate partner, Simon-Kucher&Partners, where the representatives worked together in teams to learn about pricing strategies and consulting case interviews, followed by a wonderful networking lunch.
Finally, to ensure a full experience of Egypt the Student Board visited the Great Pyramids of Egypt, emerging themselves in the history and culture of the country.
After this intensive yet exciting meeting, the teams of the Student Board are rigorously working on their new tasks and look forward to the exciting events throughout the year.

About the Student Board
The CEMS Student Board consists of elected representatives from each CEMS school. It serves a dual role by advocating for the students’ opinions, and managing projects on a global scale, while supporting the 31 CEMS Clubs. Some of the Student Board’s flagship projects include the CEMS Student Board Consulting Cup, the CEMS Gender Equality Network and the Global Ambassador Program.
Besides, the Student Board is organized in six functional areas: Marketing &Communications, CEMS Club Support, Master in International Management Affairs, Corporate & Social Partners, Responsible Leadership and Alumni Relations. Also, each member is allocated to one of the five Project Teams: Advocacy Taskforce, Global Integration, Digital Innovation, International Engagement Committee, and CEMS Gender Equality Network. The Board is chaired by the Executive Team, who sets up the Board’s strategy and structure, and supervises the respective teams. This year the Student Board is being led by President, Isabella Höllriegel, Vice President Operations, Christina Babayan and Vice President Finance, Hussnain Bashir.
