CEMS Global Alumni Week 2025: A Week of Connection, Learning, and Inspiration morelet- Wed, 04/02/2025 - 18:25 The vibrant CEMS community met together again recently for the CEMS Global Alumni Week 2025. Organizing by the CEMS Global Office in collaboration with the CEMS Student Board Alumni Relations team, GAW in 2025 fostered meaningful discussions and connections among Alumni, Students, CEMS Member Schools, and Corporate/Social Partners worldwide. News

The CEMS Global Alumni Week 2025 involved alumni and students through two global events (one webinar and one rotational industry chat) and 20+ local events that spanned five time zones.

Local Events: Celebrating the CEMS Spirit Worldwide

Across the globe, the CEMS community had various engaging local events like professional networking meet-ups and interactive game nights. In different cities, CEMSies had the chance to reconnect, exchange ideas, and celebrate their shared experiences with local cohorts.

The local chapters did an incredible job curating experiences that reflected the diversity and dynamism of the CEMS community, ensuring that every participant had new connections and lasting memories with amazing people together.

Being part of the organization of the CEMS Alumni Talks in Chile during Global Alumni Week 2025 was an incredible experience. Hearing our alumni share how CEMS has shaped not just their careers but also their personal lives reinforced the power of this community. It’s inspiring to see how our network continues to foster lifelong connections, broaden perspectives, and create impact across borders.

Global Events: Uniting the CEMS Network

The first global event of the week was an inspiring Global Webinar, where the 2024 CEMS Alumni of the Year Award recipients, Marieke Geurts (RSM/ SSE, 2012) and Leonardo Lotto (NUS/ NOVA/ USYD, 2023), shared their career journeys, challenges, and key takeaways from their CEMS experience. Attendees gained insights from these distinguished alumni, offering valuable perspectives on professional growth and the impact of the CEMS network on their different life stages.

Later in the week, the Rotational Industry Chats provided an interactive platform for CEMS students to engage with alumni from diverse industries. Through small-group discussions, students had the chance to seek career advice, explore different professional paths, and build meaningful connections.

Their stories were incredibly inspiring, as they offered unique perspectives from different career stages. I was deeply impressed by their resilience in both professional and personal life, which gave us practical takeaways and a fresh outlook on our growth.

A Community that Continues to Inspire

CEMS GAW 2025 was a great success. Whether through engaging discussions, personal reflections, or interactive sessions, the event underscored the enduring impact of the CEMS community.

One of the reasons I joined CEMS was to grow by learning from exceptional people. Global Alumni Week 2025 was a great reminder of that goal — the events and conversations challenged me to think bigger, but also to think with a purpose. It left me recharged with fresh perspectives for both my professional path and personal journey. Happy for the opportunity and looking forward to next year!

Today, it stands as one of the most important regional Business Forums organized by CEMS students from top business schools in the Mediterranean Region: Bocconi University, ESADE Business School, Koç University, Nova School of Business and Economics, and The American University in Cairo. This year, it'll be held in Istanbul, Turkey and organised by Koç University from May 9th to 10th, under the theme "Unlocking the Future: The AI Revolution in Business".

Behind the Scenes: CEMS Club Presidents Meet in Louvain for a Three-day Conference shamasha Fri, 03/07/2025 - 10:29 From February 20th to 22nd, the CEMS community got together for its annual Spring Semester Club Conference, and it was a blast! Louvain School of Management (LSM) and the CEMS Student Board rolled out the welcome mat, inviting CEMS Club Presidents to dive into all things clubs and share their best tips and tricks. News

From February 20th to 22nd 2025, 23 CEMS Club Presidents and 5 organising members from the Student Board were gathered in person at the Louvain School of Management (LSM) and 4 CEMS Club Presidents joined the meeting online.

During the three-day conference, the Presidents had the opportunity to have an issue and solution-sharing session, network, discuss best practices and brainstorm on development and collaboration between their local CEMS Clubs. The Presidents were welcomed on Thurday at the CEMS Meet & Greet, bringing together local CEMS students, alumni and Corporate Partners

This year’s conference was even more memorable as it marked the return of CEMS Clubs Canada, Santiago, Singapore, Sydney and USA, which were previously unable to participate in-person.

Day 1 – A warm welcome and networking session

Friday at the CEMS Club Conference was buzzing! Student Board Reps welcomed the attendees, followed by quick introductions from each Club President, setting the stage for collaboration. An informative introduction session with the Local CEMS Office followed, and then updates on global developments were provided by Franziska Lukas, a representative of the CEMS Student Board Executive Team, and Margaux Berras from the Global Office.In the afternoon, the Presidents explored LSM‘s OpenHub. Following a productive working session, the evening featured an activity and dinner organized in collaboration with Corporate Partner AB InBev. Attendees learned about the company's history, mission, portfolio, and career opportunities.

Day 2 – The CEMS Club Awards and Collaborative discussions

The second day was started with the long-awaited CEMS Club Awards - Best Practice! These were divided into 6 categories and an overall award for Best CEMS Club.

Shoutout to all the amazing teams who poured their hearts into building fantastic CEMS communities! You've all done incredible work!

The afternoon buzzed with collaborative energy as Presidents dove into issue-sharing sessions. Small teams brainstormed solutions to common challenges, then shared their insights with the wider group, aiming to elevate every CEMS Club. Key discussions centered on global integration, club cohesion, mental health awareness, and strategies to boost event attendance. After closing remarks, the Presidents wrapped up the conference with a final dinner together.

Key take-aways from the CEMS Club Conference

The objectives achieved over the course of the three days were the following:

Connect among Presidents
Present strengths and weaknesses of each CEMS Club
Learn best practices from the other CEMS Clubs
Get insights & updates on the Global Office and Student Board

The CEMS Student Board would like to thank all presidents for taking the time to attend the 21st CCC. The insights shared during the conference will help local clubs improve and inspire them to work on winning next semester’s Best Practice awards by representing the CEMS values as best as possible!

CEMS Club Conference Dublin: Fall Semester 2024 shamasha Mon, 12/16/2024 - 15:30 From October 17th to 19th, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Dublin kindly hosted the biannual CEMS Club Conference for the fall semester and invited CEMS students to present their CEMS Clubs, discuss challenges, and share best practices. News

20 CEMS Club Presidents and 4 organizing members from the Student Board were gathered in person at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Dublin, Ireland. During the two-days conference, the Presidents had the opportunity to have an issue-sharing session, brainstorm and pitch solutions and best practices, network, discuss and vote on structural changes to processes affecting their clubs, and discuss further collaboration between their local CEMS Clubs.

The Presidents were welcomed on Friday by the Student Board Representatives as well as both the CEMS Programme Manager, Claire McGoldrick, and Academic Director, Andrew Keating. They started the conference off by introducing the school and the CEMS Master experience at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

Following this insightful session, each CEMS Club President had the opportunity to introduce themselves, their respective CEMS Club, and highlight the main issue they were currently facing. This was in turn followed by an update from the CEMS Global Office, represented by Melissa Morelet-Weaver as the Alumni Relations Manager, and a deep dive into the Student Board’s projects, presented by the SBR Vice-President of Finance, Joelle Soumi.

Before the lunch break, the morning programme culminated in a fruitful discussion among the presidents on current issues impacting their CEMS Clubs, including a solution-oriented brainstorming on potential remedies. The first half of Friday was concluded by taking group pictures of the presidents standing in the CEMS logo.

After a lunch kindly offered by UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, the presidents were able to get a tour of the Salesforce Tower Dublin, engage in a panel discussion with CEMS Alumni now working at Salesforce, and mingle with them afterwards. The interactions with more CEMS alumni continued at an official CEMS Alumni mingle, organized by the local CEMS office. During the ensuing discussions, the presidents were able to gain insights into a potential career path in Dublin, the local working life, as well as numerous corporate partners that are also situated in Dublin.

The second day of the conference got off to an exciting start with the announcement of the results of the CEMS Club Awards presented by SBR Max Kilian (WU). It is important to highlight that this year was the first time where the awards were livestreamed for CEMSies around the world to follow the ceremony in real time! The awards are divided into six categories, as well as a “Best CEMS Club” award.

CEMS Club Awards

The announcement of the CEMS Club Awards paved the way for a discussion and voting session for presidents on how to reform and update the voting process and selection of best practices for these awards. Presidents discussed together in breakout rooms and then voted on changes that will be implemented over the coming semesters to improve the voting process to make it notably fairer, more inclusive of all clubs, more objective in the best practices selection and more representative of each club's efforts.

After a well-deserved lunch and a tour of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School campus to digest, the presidents were able to refine their issue sharing conclusions from the previous day in small groups. Everyone presented their action plan to solve their main problem to the other presidents, and received direct feedback from the others as well as tools to help them improve their respective action plan upon return to their universities.

Finally, the conference concluded with an international picnic where all Presidents contributed one food item from their home countries. To celebrate the end of the conference all together, CEMS Club Presidents got invited to a social activity in the evening to network with the CEMS Club Dublin.

The Student Board sincerely hopes that the Presidents found this 20th CCC edition eventful and insightful, and that they have returned to their local CEMS Clubs with new ideas and inspiration, as well as renewed motivation for the remainder of their tenure.
