Professor Hongtao Zhang , with his Stanford colleague Hau L. Lee have collected a well-rounded and illuminating editorial for two sets of research papers offering “a high-level, panoramic view of general challenges and research opportunities.” The two sets of papers both identify specific issues by modeling a few key features of sustainable business models at the individual stakeholder level .
“The two groups, taken together, will help the reader see the overall outline of the sustainability forest and a few innovation trees close up,” say Zhang and Lee.
With the rapidly increasing demands for managers and business leaders to stay afloat in innovation and the called need to create sustainable businesses with the Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the UN, these set of papers are informative windows in the complex ocean of innovation ideas, while highlighting the developments and positive impacts achieved, and focusing on the main stakeholders with actionable steps as well as challenges ahead, inviting corporations to join hands and profit from sustainability in production and operations management.
