The London School of Economics and Political Science

The Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is unique in its teaching and research of management through our concentration on the social, political and economic sciences by world-leading academics.

Located in the heart of London, we draw talent from all backgrounds and over 100 countries to our community of staff, students, alumni, corporate and social partners.

Committed to academic rigour and evidence-based education, our mission is to inform and inspire better management in practice by challenging and extending the understanding of people, teams, organisations and markets, and the economic, psychological, social, political and technological contexts in which they operate worldwide.

We are proud to be part of LSE, an institution that ranks #2 in the world for social sciences and management (QS World University Rankings 2020) and #1 in the UK for research in business and management studies (REF 2014).

Founded in 1895, LSE continues to use its convening power to bring together global leaders, innovators and social scientists for the betterment of society. We continue this tradition by engaging with people and organisations worldwide, across the private, public, and third sectors, who are motivated to improve the world through better understanding and practice of management.

Key points

MIM programme at this school

LSE’s strong social science foundations and academic rigour are central to our CEMS MiM programme. We offer a multidisciplinary academic approach to understanding the theory and practice of management, with a strong focus on management theory. Our faculty will encourage students to develop their critical thinking skills, and to apply insights from research to organisational challenges.

Students will also meet with careers consultants to support their career journey and be invited to various career development events. Students can attend bespoke business and management events, networking sessions with representatives from a wide spectrum of industries and public lectures delivered by world-leading speakers from around the world. LSE also offers 200 student societies, which are the heart and soul of student and campus life.
