Recognising excellence in the CEMS MIM curriculum through courses and seminars that combine global outlook, academic rigour, and responsible leadership.
Courses and seminars are the cornerstone of the CEMS Master in International Management. They bring our values to life by blending international perspectives, real business insights, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Our Course and Seminar Awards celebrate teaching and learning experiences that inspire students, advance pedagogy across the alliance, and prepare the next generation of responsible global leaders.
Eligibility & Nominations
- Selection is based on course/seminar performance in student satisfaction surveys.
- No self-nominations or external nominations are required.
Selection Process
- The CEMS Academic Committee reviews submitted materials and votes.
- Awards are presented annually.
The three Course & Seminar Awards
Each year, CEMS honours outstanding teaching and learning through three distinctions: the Global Strategy Course of the Year, the Global Citizenship Seminar of the Year, and the Global Leadership Course of the Year - celebrating innovative pedagogy, global perspective, and responsible leadership across our alliance.
Global strategy course of the year
Recognises a course that connects strategy with the real world of global business.
Nominees demonstrate:
- Internationalisation - diversity in content and delivery, using cases from different countries and regions.
- Business embeddedness - integration of real business challenges, guest speakers, and company involvement.
- Responsible citizenship - exploration of ethical dilemmas, sustainability issues, and stakeholder perspectives.
- Reflective critical thinking - teaching formats that promote active learning and student reflection.

Global Citizenship Seminar of the Year
Honours a seminar that challenges students to reflect on their role in society and as future leaders.
Nominees demonstrate:
- Integration of SDGs – embedding sustainability and global responsibility into the seminar design.
- Active citizenship – encouraging students to rethink their contribution to society and the world.
- Distinctive design & delivery – innovative modes of teaching that leave a lasting impact.
- Sharing best practices – lessons that can inspire the wider CEMS community, especially Academic Directors.

Global Leadership Course of the Year
Celebrates a course that develops the leadership capabilities of CEMS students. Nominees demonstrate:
- Internationalisation – diversity of perspectives, content, and delivery.
- Business embeddedness – collaboration with companies and integration of real-world leadership cases.
- Responsible citizenship – examining ethical dilemmas, sustainability, and responsibility in leadership decisions.
- Reflective critical thinking – fostering self-awareness and reflective practice in leadership learning.
