With the world around us rapidly evolving and countries facing immense disruption across many fields, participants took on the task to propose new global policy initiatives to promote labour market participation rates and close the skills mismatch.
The panel of judges comprising of members of the Whiteshield Leadership Team, acting as Ministers of Education and Labour were incredibly impressed by the remarkable effort and dedication from each team to address the matter at hand, pushing the boundaries of innovation in such a unique and thought-provoking way.
Whiteshield is delighted to announce the top-placing teams:
- First Place – London School of Economics: Harnessing the Power of Technology & Stakeholder Cooperation: Skill Motive for an Upskilled & Engaged Workforce.
- Second Place – CEMS student group from Nova School of Business & Economics & London School of Economics: Human Capital Alignment Policy
- Third Place – Stockholm School of Economics: Global Apprenticeship Program
Within one year since launching the first competition in 2021, Whiteshield saw an incredible increase of 60% in overall engagement from the number of students applying to compete. The success of the competition highlights the growing interest among students in pursuing a career in public policymaking.
Students from the top placing teams were rewarded with an invite to Whiteshield’s Dubai Office to participate in a face-to-face fast-track recruitment process. An intense few days with students flying across continents with the hope to secure a permanent position with the firm. The trip provided an opportunity to immerse into the world of Whiteshield with a blend of learning opportunities, networking, and team-building activities – the experience was described as unique and rewarding on both a professional and personal level.
