Corvinus University of Budapest recently received the United Nations’ PRME Faculty Teaching Award for its pioneering pedagogical approach in business education, specifically in the marketing category. This award, a recognition from the UN Global Compact’s Programme for Responsible Business Education, applauds Corvinus academic Katalin Ásványi and Science Shops Márta Frigyik and Réka Matolay, for addressing the UN's Sustainable Development Goals through innovative teaching that promotes responsible management practices.

The university’s success among nearly 100 global institutions highlights the international impact of its commitment to sustainable development within education.

The winning program, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) course, is a collaborative initiative between Corvinus University and the Corvinus Science Shop, which links students with community and non-profit organizations. This semester-long course emphasises community-embedded learning, integrating real-world challenges through experimental and project-based collaboration. Students partner with local organizations, preparing CSR proposals and engaging in fieldwork, gaining practical experience while contributing solutions to real societal challenges needs.

This award celebrates innovative teaching and serves as a model for integrating social responsibility in academic curricula worldwide. Through hands-on learning, students develop problem-solving skills, empathy, and a commitment to sustainability, preparing them for leadership roles prioritising ethical and environmental responsibility.
