WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business)

WU is an international university that is very aware of its responsibility to society and the research community and acts conscientiously in all that it does. WU is all of us: the people that study here, teach, perform research, work in our administrative units, or are even just visiting our campus as guests or to attend one of our many public events.

Since 1898 WU provides space for contemplation and creativity and is a pioneer in research and teaching, all with the goal of increasing economic capability and social prosperity.

Key points

MIM programme at this school

The Master in International Management/CEMS combines WU’s MSc degree and the CEMS MIM into a two-year-long program. The program will provide you with the know-how and skills to succeed in a global business environment and to become a multicultural as well as multilingual leader.
The studies are divided in the “CEMS Year”, when requirements of the CEMS Alliance such International Business Project, Global Strategy Management and Global Management Practice Course, etc. are fulfilled; and the “WU Year”, focused on further courses from our exclusive offer of Electives and the Master Thesis. One term of the CEMS year is completed abroad at a partner university.

Living in the city

Vienna is consistently ranked as the city with the world’s highest quality of living according to Mercer’s Quality of Living Ranking. In addition to a wide selection of cultural and recreational opportunities, Vienna offers an excellent infrastructure and is also one of the world’s safest cities.

In October 2013, WU relocated to an impressive new campus in Vienna’s 2nd district. As a public institution, WU is aware of its responsibility, and built its campus in an economical, ecological, and socially sustainable manner. Not only have new buildings been constructed, but in the process, also concrete realization were given to ideas of what the university of the future should look like. The campus is more than just a place for academic research and teaching and learning practical skills; it is also designed to create a new space for social, cultural, and political life.
